ABOUT US
Elite Building Services is a family firm, led by Project Manager Andy Baxter and nephew Mike Baxter. We have been in construction for nearly two decades.
Before that Andy worked in steel fabrication for 14 years, so you can be sure that when we asses structural requirements we really know our stuff!
Andy started building work after moving to Spain in 2002, starting with his own home, which he still owns. He quickly picked up the local language and - after Mike's arrival shortly after - we ran a highly successful business specialising in terraces, swimming pools and especially tiling (which is of course used extensively in Spain given the warm climate).
Our reputation for quality and reliability helped us survive the Spanish property crash, which eradicated many local firms.
In 2010, Mike returned to the UK to take up a role as 'Snagger' (responsible for identifying faults and commissioning repairs) at major commercial projects for Skanksa in London like the Baby Shard and Cotton Centre.
In 2015, with a growing family, Andy took the big decision to start Elite Building Services in the UK, focussing particularly but not exclusively on the Cambridgeshire area. The team has expanded beyond Andy and Mike, and now includes Matt (groundwork, brickwork and structural work) plus Ashley our trusty apprentice.
Rather than chopping and changing for more specialist work, Elite Building Services sub-contracts with a regular set of colleagues in the shape of Ollie (electrician), Dan (plumbing), Steve (plastering) and Clive (roofing).
We work on mostly residential projects, both extensions/conversions and new build. Our usual approach is to pool resource on one project at a time. We find this intensity of resource, especially in the key first phases of a project, is the most efficient for us as builders but more importantly minimises the disruption for our clients.
We do the basics right - turn up on time, keep our commitments and communicate openly and extensively throughout the lifetime of a project (usually through use of a shared WhatsApp group, which allows easy passing of photos).
